An energy-efficient, ecological and aesthetic house is built out of lightweight and durable materials. It has excellent thermal insulation, air-tight windows and controlled ventilation. It also has a modern heating system which uses a high efficiency boiler, heat pumps or solar energy.
Modern energy sources such as high efficiency boilers require the use of modern heat systems. Low-temperature floor heating is one such system. These are an ideal solution for residential properties.
Properly designed, constructed and operated under-floor heating systems provide users with a constant temperature in the room/space. Thanks to this microclimate, there are no ill effects such as dyspnoea and a constant relative humidity is assured:
- Good heating should provide good thermal comfort, be durable, reliable and economical.
- Operating costs in modern heating systems are lower than those of conventional heating systems.
- Modern heating control and monitoring provides for easy operation and maintenance.
- Well designed heating does not occupy unnecessary space and helps maintain aesthetics in rooms. Under-floor heating meets all of these requirements.
Correctly installed floor heating cables are estimated to last up to 50 years. High quality construction materials must be used to ensure this lifespan. Under-floor heating systems are efficient and clean. Although floor heating is simple in operation and components are lightweight, installation must be carried out by competent persons. Utilization and maintenance of this type of heating is simple for users. The regular maintenance of radiators is eliminated.
However, certain rules do apply:
- You can’t change the floor coverings, for example.
- The system should be adequately protected against overheating.
- With any water heating system it is necessary to periodically check the feed water temperature of individual circuits.
- Maximum floor heating loads should be observed to avoid cracking in the floor.
